Bangkok, a city of which you can expect anything being the capital of Thailand. The city bursts with shopping complexes, temples, vibrant nightlife, local markets and so many attractions for the tourists that is one of the reasons why we can find Bangkok so crowded. Here we have listed down some famous attractions of Bangkok that you must visit.
1. Grand Palace
Out of all the historic places in Bangkok if you get a chance to visit only one, go for the Grand Palace. The Grand Palace with its spectacular structures and royal compounds has brought the modern monarchs to shame. It is still used today for important occasions and accommodating heads of state. To avoid any hassle and to make the most of your trip, it is suggested to take the Grand Palace tour which is a half day sightseeing tour with a professional guide. Without a guide you may miss out on important features of the palace hence, not understand the importance of it.
2. Chatuchak Market
The Chatuchak Market is Bangkok’s weekend market that is the largest in the world. People come here to get everything; from religious icons to jewelry and delicious street food. The market is so large that it has around 15000 stalls so you can imagine how you can find anything that you have dreamt off.
3. Damnoen Sadauk Floating Market
To get a whole different and interesting market experience, one should go for the Damnoen Sadauk Floating Market. Bangkok is pretty famous for its floating markets which are why it was once known as the Venice of the East. Many cruise day trips are also arranged that pick you up from your hotel and takes you in an AC coach. The best part is that these tours are not at all heavy on the pocket.
4. Terminal 21
The name might mislead you think that it is a transport hub but in real, Terminal 21 is a very famous shopping mall in Bangkok. What makes this mall unique than other malls in Bangkok is that it every floor of the mall is differently and uniquely themed to a different international city. The shops are moderately price ranged and you can also find some fun cafes too.
5. Street Food Stalls
In order to get the true taste of Bangkok, one has to definitely try out the street food. Street food vendors are found all over the city to tempt you with the treats. Do try out the grilled fish and meat, myriad, fresh fruit, soups and other famous dishes.
6. China Town
Chinatown is an exotic, colorful and a pleasant area that is packed with various market stalls and contains some highest concentration of gold shops in Bangkok. During the major famous festivals like the Vegetarian festival and the Chinese New Year, the celebration is worth watching. If you happen to be around during such festivals, make sure you don’t miss an opportunity to get an experience of the Chinatown at its finest.
