The body consist of millions and millions of cells. Every little cell works as a little power plant, and together they fill us with energy and keep us alive.
To get a healthy body that functions optimally, we have to start all the way down to the cellular level and give our 'power plants' the best conditions. In other words, the machine is no better than the fuel we keep feeding it.
Vegetables, fruit, antioxidants, proteins, good fats and plenty of water plays a fundamental role, if your body has to work for you and not against you.
Drink water - Plenty of water
Water are essential to keep our power plants in a good condition, so drink water, and in large quantities, so that the nutrients appears to the cells and waste products are coming out. Our body consists of up to 70% liquid and water is an absolute "must" if you want a healthy, beautiful and energy-driven body. In fact, our energy level will go down by 20% if our fluid balance falls by a paltry 4%.
Think of your body as a fish tank
Imagine your many millions of cells as small fish bathed in fluid that assist transports nutrients forward to the cells and removes waste products. In the same manner as in an ordinary tank, it is important to keep the water and the internal environment clean.
Imagine what would happen to the aquarium fish if the water was rarely changed? The water is turbid, sour, bacteria-filled and begin to decay. The fish are lethargic and will eventually belly up. The same happens with us, where a 'pollution' results in the body's cells become weakened and slowly give up.
A good advice is to change 'the water in the aquarium frequently.
How much water should I drink?
As a general rule, it is recommended to drink 1/3 of your body weight in deciliter. This means that if your weight is 60 kg, you should drink at least 2 liters a day. If you are in direct sun or you train intensely, you should drink even more. Be aware that coffee, cola and other "energy drinks" dehydrate your body, which means you need to drink even more water.
Drinking enough water sometimes requires routines
You must find your routines. One advice is to drink a large glass of water before every meal and of course also during the meal. If you then also take a glass of water every time you are refueling with coffee or tea, then you are on the right track.
